1917 Airplane Bungalow Hall

Finding room for that much-needed additional full bath is often a challenge, especially on the second floor of older homes with smaller upstairs bedrooms.  In this 1917 Airplane Bungalow, we transformed an existing powder room to a full bath with minimal impact to the surrounding bedrooms.  Widening the room a mere 18 inches, by borrowing space from an adjacent bedroom closet, we were able to add a tiled, walk-in shower.

The partial-height shower wall maximizes the feeling of space by allowing an unobstructed view of the room’s full depth and ceiling.  White tile adds to that perception, reflecting natural light from a solar tube.
