With a limited budget, our clients wanted to restore a characteristic stateliness to this stripped-down Craftsman Bungalow living room. An update in the late '40s divorced the room from the original character maintained elsewhere in the home and erased details that give a room personality and scale. As a fireplace typically commands the focus in any room it inhabits, we focused on that asset. Period millwork and trim, and a hand-crafted box-beam ceiling unify the room and further its identity.
