When a kitchen over a certain age could use a little cosmetic work, it’s time for a kitchen “spiff up.” The owners of this 1994 Colonial-style home found their kitchen functional but outdated. They wanted to keep the cabinetry and layout while gaining an airier, more sophisticated space. We updated worn appliances; replaced the countertops and backsplash; and updated the cabinet hardware, sink faucets, and dining room light fixture.
As typical in remodeling, our greatest challenge was less obvious to the eye. Ensuring the new appliances fit into the floor plan and existing cabinetry required meticulous carpentry and product selection. What our client appreciates most? The granite countertop and horizontal-tile backsplash that gives the room a more expansive feel. The neutral wall color adds to the sophistication and ties the room to adjoining spaces.
