1912 Ladd’s Addition Exterior

The homeowners knew only that their house needed restoration but not what it should look like. We directed them in a search for historical architectural references to help them envision its original incarnation. Based on an archived photo the clients found of the house when newly built, we aimed for the most historically accurate recreation of the original home while using updated materials and construction methods where appropriate. A “sister” house in the neighborhood provided a reference for recreating missing details. Our restoration of the house’s original profile, including upstairs and downstairs porches, window configurations, and architectural details, gave the home a more natural and graceful appearance.
